New Delhi, February 20: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday stressed the need for a coordinated approach among the states and the Centre to achieve the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ (self-reliant India) goal. Speaking at the sixth meeting of the Governing Council of NITI Aayog, the Prime Minister said that ‘ease of doing business and ease of living’ is also among the government’s priority to a strong country’s economy. He made a strong case for repealing archaic laws for ease of doing business in India and said the centre and states need to work closely to boost economic growth.

Praising the Union Budget 2021-22 which was presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman earlier this month, the Prime Minister said that people have made up their minds about what they want. He stressed on ‘zero defect, zero effect’ mantra which he gave in August 2014 to Indian entrepreneurs for better products–a direct reference to the need to make things without causing environmental harm.

During his address, the Prime Minister said that ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ campaign is the way to build an India that produces not only for its needs but also for the world, and these productions will also stand the test of world superiority. To achieve the goal, the Prime Minister added there is need for a better coordination among Centre as well as states and increase export.

The Prime Minister stressed on the policy framework and cooperation between the Centre and states, saying “coastal states are a fine example”. “Exports from the blue economy have unlimited opportunities. Why shouldn’t our coastal states take extra initiatives for the same?” He added saying that India managed to build a good image internationally during the Covid-19 period because the central and state governments worked together for the betterment of people.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called upon youngsters of India to attend ‘Prarambh’, the Startup India international summit on January 15 and 16. The Prime Minister asserted that the summit seeks to bring together top minds from industry, academia, investment, banking and finance besides young start up leaders. Taking to Twitter, the Prime Minister shared his LinkedIn post in which he noted that virtual interactions have become the new normal during the COVID-19 pandemic and said a big advantage of this is that people can be a part of programmes sitting at home. “With most events being held virtually, it has given a great opportunity for youngsters to be a part of many interesting domestic & global forums. One such opportunity is coming up in the form of Prarambh on 15-16 Jan. I urge our youth to be a part of it,” Modi tweeted on Monday.

Referring to the ‘Prarambh’ summit, the prime minister said India would also be marking five years since the Startup India initiative began. He said that this initiative has propelled India to being among the most attractive start-up eco-systems globally. Lauding the capabilities of the youths in India, the Prime Minister said that no words can do justice to the spirit of India’s youth. “Their penchant for innovation has led to outstanding results. Our start-up heroes are not merely coming from big cities but also from smaller towns. This is a good sign,” he added

Talking about the work from home opportunities, the Prime Minister noted and said work from home is in, so is greater adapting to technology. “For me, it meant more programmes online, which were extremely productive and insightful. There were interactions with scientists, medical professionals, COVID warriors, academics, industry leaders, young innovators, spiritual leaders and more,” Modi said.

The Prime Minister added that there were virtual summits, both bilaterals and multilaterals with world leaders, he noted, adding that “path-breaking” development schemes were launched through public events organised digitally.

About Prarambh:

‘Prarambh’ – Startup India International Summit – on 15 and 16 January 2021 in a virtual format. It will be organised by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry. ‘Prarambh’ means ‘an auspicious beginning’. As a verb, it implies ‘to start’.

The Prime Minister added those who take on challenges, later succeed in life and cited an example of the youth of the 1922-47 period, who sacrificed everything for freedom. He urged the students to live for the country and join the movement of Atmanirbhar Bharat and develop a sense of responsibility. The Prime Minister remarked that the seed of success lies in a sense of responsibility and a sense of responsibility should be turned to the purpose of life. He pointed out that the same people are successful in life, do something by which there is a sense of responsibility in their lives. Those who fail are the ones who live in the Sense of Burden.

The Prime Minister added a sense of responsibility also gives rise to a sense of opportunity in a person’s life. He said India is progressing ahead in many sectors and young graduates must march ahead with commitment and stressed on protecting nature and the environment.

Atmanirbhar Bharat Is About Creating Globally Competitive Enterprises, Says PM Narendra Modi

New Delhi, October 28: In a major boost to the government’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called upon exporters to create ‘globally competitive’ enterprises in India in the spirit of his flagship mission. In his message to the EEPC India, Modi said that the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ is about creating globally competitive enterprises in India. The four-day virtual expo opened on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister made this announcement during the inauguration of the engineering exporters’ apex body, EEPC India’s first virtual exhibition, ‘India Subcontracting Expo 2020’ for overseas buyers. During his message, the Prime Minister conveyed that science and engineering have a major role in realising the objectives of the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ programme.

The Prime Minister said that India is creating the right ecosystems for local manufacturing and supply chain. Modi said that technology has become an enabler in the wake of challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.” Digital tools have guided and helped in transforming such challenges into opportunities. The world requires skilled hands and we in India have the talent to cater to these global needs,” he said.

According to EEPC India, as many as 100 engineering exporters would be showcasing their products and technologies to major buyers from Europe, including the UK through a virtual exhibition, seeking to bag manufacturing contracts, giving a boost to the ‘Make In India’ and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ programmes.

According to a report by IANS, the virtual exposition platform sports several features like 24×7 access for buyers and sellers, virtual B2Bs, chat rooms, among other. Besides, the CXO Forum would be held with a theme-India-EU advanced opportunities for business cooperation in COVID-19 world.

Credit Guarantee Scheme For MSME Sector Unlikely to be Extended Beyond October 2020

New Delhi, October 19: The Narendra Modi government is unlikely to extend the Rs 3 lakh crore-Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS) for MSME sector beyond October. According to a PTI report, this scheme is meant to provide financial support to businesses, primarily Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), impacted by slowdown triggered by the coronavirus pandemic.

As per sources quoted in the report, the decision to not extend the ECLGS scheme has been taken even though the sanctioned amount so far is only nearly 65 per cent of the target.

On August 1, the government widened the scope of the Rs 3 lakh crore-scheme by doubling the upper ceiling of loans outstanding and including certain loans given to professionals like doctors, lawyers and chartered accountants for business purposes under its ambit.

The objective of the scheme is to provide support to all those affected in the coronavirus pandemic and if there are no takers for the scheme, then the scheme won’t be extended even though there is some room left.

Narendra Modi Birthday 2020: Khadi and Village Industries Commission Creates 1500 Employment in 10 Cities on ‘Sewa Diwas’ to Celebrate PM’s Special Day

New Delhi, September 18: The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) on Thursday extended the benefits of various employment generation schemes to nearly 1500 persons in 10 Indian cities to celebrate ‘Sewa Diwas’. The benefits were extended to mark the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The KVIC organised 14 programs to expand the ambit of its welfare projects to create local employment. The KVIC also distributed 6 innovative cycle-mounted tea/coffee selling units under project DigniTEA in New Delhi. The cycle-mounted tea/coffee selling units were distributed to unemployed local youths with an aim to enable the tea-sellers to earn a respectable livelihood.

Apart from this, Union Minister of State for MSME Pratap Chandra Sarangi inaugurated an SFURTI cluster of 500 artisans for making hand-knotted carpets in Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh. Among other programmes, KVIC Chairman Vinai Kumar Saxena launched six different programs in Varanasi that include the first Footwear Training cum Production Center in Varanasi for leather artisans (Mochi) in collaboration with Central Footwear Training Institute (CFTI).

He also distributed electric potter wheels to 300 Kumhar families under Kumhar Sashaktikaran Yojana and 200 bee boxes to 20 farmers families under Honey Mission. The KVIC chairman also distributed 6 hand-operated Agarbatti making machines at Sewapuri Block in Varanasi under the Khadi Agarbatti Aatmanirbhar Mission.

KVIC chairman said sustainable development though local employment generation has been the key focus of KVIC which is aligned with the Prime Minister’s commitment of ‘Job to Every Hand’ (Har Hath Me Kaam). “It is the inspiration and appeal of the Hon’ble Prime Minister that has taken Khadi to a new height. We are hopeful that he will continue to lead Khadi as its biggest brand ambassador,” Saxena said.

Startup India Scheme: Here’s How to Apply And the Eligibility Criteria to Avail Government of India’s Startup Business Loan

Bangalore, September 8: India is home to several startups and it has the third-largest startup base in the world.  Startups require loan to help them to boost their business initially giving the necessary machinery and equipment. So startup loan is the business loan which basically caters to the main funding of a business with which you wish to start.

Eligible companies can get recognised as Startups by DPIIT, in order to access a host of tax benefits, easier compliance, IPR fast-tracking & more. In order to avail the benefit of Startup India, the company should have an annual turnover not exceeding Rs. 100 crore for any of the financial years since its incorporation. The entity should not have been formed by splitting up or reconstructing an already existing business. Period of existence and operations should not be exceeding 10 years from the date of incorporation.

Here Are Details About Start-Up India Business Loan: 

The Stand-Up India Scheme offers Government loans for business ranging between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 1 crore to at least one Scheduled Tribe or Scheduled Caste borrower to set up a Greenfield enterprise. It is also granted to at least one woman borrower per bank branch to promote woman entrepreneurship among the scheduled caste and scheduled tribe. The tenure of the loan is 7 years.

Startup India scheme was launched on April 5, 2016, by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the backing of Department of Financial Services and is being monitored by the Ministry of Finance.

Narendra Modi Govt Clears Payments of Over Rs 6,800 Crore Owed to MSMEs Over Past 3 Months

In a bid to help the MSMEs, the Modi Government has been taking a series of measures. The government on Wednesday informed that the Central ministries and PSUs have cleared payments of over Rs 6,800 crore owed to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSEMs) in the last three months. It said almost three-fourths of the monthly dues have been paid during the same month by most of the ministries and CPSEs. The pending amounts are expected to be released in the normal course of business and within 45 days.

The MSME ministry, in a statement, said that “more than Rs 6,800 crore have been paid by the Ministries and CPSEs in the last three months alone”. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, as part of AtmaNirbhar Bharat package, had announced that Government entities should make such payments within 45 days. The Ministry of MSME followed up this announcement vigorously and took up the matter with the Central Ministries and Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) and State Governments. Particularly very active follow up has been done with the Heads of CPSEs.

The MSME Development Act of 2006 provides that such dues should be paid within 45 days. To make the reporting easy, regular and seamless, a dedicated online format has been made for reporting the monthly payments and pendency, the ministry said.

“However, it is seen that MSME suppliers of goods and services do not receive their due payments within stipulated time. Public and private entities do cross this time limit and hence they cause hardship to the MSMEs,” the statement said. According to a government release, the ministry also said close to 4 lakh registrations have already taken place on the Udyam registration portal for MSMEs since the new system was launched in July.

PM Narendra Modi Urges Startups, Entrepreneurs to ‘Team Up’ Under ‘Vocal for Local’ Theme to Make India Atma Nirbhar in Toy Manufacturing Sector

New Delhi, August 30: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday during his Mann Ki Baat address urged the people of the country to become self-reliant in the toy manufacturing sector across the globe. He also urged the startups ‘team up for toys’ under ‘vocal for local’ theme to increase India’s share in the global market.

Highlighting the importance for making ‘toys for the world’, PM Modi said, “There has been a rich tradition of local toys in our country. Many talented and skilled artisans possess expertise in making good toys. We have given the focus on toys in the National Education Policy too. Learning while playing, making toys etc has been made a part of the curriculum.”

Urging the startups to be ‘vocal for local’ under the Atma Nirbhat Bharat initiative, PM Modi said, “I urge our start-up to team up for toys’, this also matches our call for a vocal for local. I urge our young brothers to make games in India and also on India. The global toy industry is over Rs 7 lakh crore but India’s share is very small; will have to work to increase it.”

Citing examples of the expansion of indigenous toy-making industries in India, PM Modi said Channapatna in Ramnagaram (Karnataka), Kondaplli in Krishna (Andhra Pradesh), Thanjavur in Tamil Nadu, Dhubri in Assam, Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh are recently developing as toy clusters. Apart from this, he said, “My appeal to the young talent of the country is Make Games Games in India and Make Games of India; it is said, Let the Game Begin…so come, let us play.”

On the issue of developing online games, the Premier said, “I call upon my start-up friends and new entrepreneurs to team up for toys; let us together make toys; it is time for local toys. You also come forward, innovate and implement something; your efforts in today’s small startups will transform into global conglomerates tomorrow and make a mark for India.”
