Stimulus 3.0: Narendra Modi Govt Announces Fresh Relief Package, From Creating More Jobs to Credit Guarantee Support Scheme, Here’s How MSMEs Will Benefit

New Delhi, November 12: FM Nirmala Sitharaman announced a slew of measures as part of stimulus 3.0 with an attempt to give relief to the stressed sectors amid the coronavirus pandemic.

FM announced Atmanirbhar Bharat Rozgar Yojana to boost employment and create jobs. This will be effective from October 1, 2020. Under the new scheme, any EPFO-registered employer takes on new employees or hires those who lost jobs between March 1 and September 30 will be given some benefits.

The other measure was Credit guarantee support scheme, which was launched for the healthcare sector and 26 sectors stressed due to coronavirus pandemic. The scheme can be utilised for 100 percent guaranteed collateral-free additional credit at capped interest rates in these sectors.

The entities from these sectors with an outstanding credit of above Rs 50 crore and up to Rs 500 crore as of February 2, 2020, will be benefited in this scheme, the further FM added.

As part of PM Garib Kalyan Rozgar Yojana, an additional outlay of Rs 10,000 crores will be provided for in the current financial year, to boost rural employment.

RBI Says ‘Promoting Startup And Ensuring Their Survival is Critical in Generating More Employment’

Mumbai, August 25: Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Tuesday said that the promotion of young firms and startups and ensuring their survival is critical for generating more employment generation and higher productivity-led economic growth in India. RBI’s annual report for 2019-20 mentioned that it will be essential to reorient resources and policy focus in this direction.

RBI in its report mentioned that Indian IT firms are already leading globally in terms of developing applications using artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), robotics, and blockchain technology. This niche advantage needs to be leveraged to strengthen India’s position as an innovation hub, coupled with India’s ‘Start-up India’ campaign which recognises the potential of young entrepreneurs of the country.

Commenting on the economic growth revival of the country following the impact of coronavirus, RBI said that the government’s consumption will continue to support current economic demand while private consumption is expected to lead the recovery.

MSME Sector in India: Nitin Gadkari Says Government Plans to Increase MSME Exports & Jobs in the Next 5 Years

New Delhi, August 17: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Sunday said that the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector plays a major role in the development of the country. He further spoke about how the government plans to increase MSMEs exports to 60 percent from 48 percent in the next 5 years. This will also be adding 5 crore jobs in the next 5 years.

“Our MSME sector has a huge contribution to the development of our country. Currently, 30 per cent income of GDP growth rate comes from MSME. 48 per cent of our exports are from MSME and till date, we have created 11 crore jobs,” Gadkari said while speaking at SWAVALAMBAN E-Summit 2020 organised by ‘Lets Endorse Development’ NGO.

Unregistered enterprises need to register, says Gadkari:

In order to get the benefit of the MSMEs, unregistered enterprises need to register themselves under the Micro industry. He urged NGOs to urge small traders and encourage them to also register.

Plan to Increase Exports, Bring Foreign Investment & Upgrade Technology: 

The MSME Minister said that the government will work for the empowerment of people from villages and make them self-reliant. Gadkari added that the plan would be to increase efforts, bring foreign investment, and upgrade technology and make India super economic power.
